Laura Findlay

Visual Anthropologist · Documentary Filmmaker · UX Researcher · Fulbright Researcher

Laura Findlay is a documentary filmmaker and visual anthropologist from San Francisco, CA. Inspired by her lifelong fascination with archaeology and ancient cultures, her work to date ignites dialogue about ownership, identity, memory, and belonging in contemporary societies through compelling visual storytelling showcasing humanity's unbreakable link to our ancient past.

Laura's interdisciplinary education and commitment to cross-cultural collaboration have shaped her perspectives as a scholar and filmmaker. As she grows into her career Laura plans to produce documentary films that employ ethical and collaborative methodologies to educate wider audiences about ancient civilizations and their modern, global legacies.

When not behind a camera, Laura can be found learning Arabic, cooking for loved ones, and assisting with the preservation and documentation of underwater submerged cultural heritage as an authorized AAUS scientific diver.
